Why split a PDF?
Large PDFs often contain more than you need to share. Splitting lets you send only the relevant pages — a single invoice out of a monthly statement, one chapter of a textbook, or the signature page of a contract — without exposing the rest of the document.
It is also handy for working around upload limits: a long scanned document can be divided into smaller parts that each fit the size limit of a form or email provider.
Writing page ranges
Use commas to separate pages and a dash for ranges. For example, "1-3, 5, 8-10" keeps pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9 and 10. Page numbers refer to the position in the file, which may differ from the numbers printed on the pages if the document has a cover or roman-numeral front matter.
Choose "split every page" when you need each page as its own file, such as separating a batch of scanned letters that were fed through a scanner together.
Quality and limitations
Splitting copies pages exactly, so there is no loss of quality and text remains searchable. Encrypted PDFs need to be unlocked first. Links that point to pages you removed will no longer work in the extracted file.
How your files stay private
Most online converters upload your file to a server, process it there and send it back. all in tool works differently: the processing code is downloaded to your browser and runs on your own device. Your file is read from your disk into memory, transformed, and handed back to you as a download. It is never sent over the network, so there is nothing for us — or anyone else — to store, read or leak.
You can confirm this yourself: once the page has loaded, you can disconnect from the internet and the tool keeps working. This also means speed depends on your device rather than your connection, which is usually much faster for large files.
