- 2Type a new width or height (the other updates automatically).
- 3Download the resized image.
Common reasons to resize
Websites, profile pictures, marketplaces and application forms often require specific pixel dimensions. Resizing a large photo down also reduces its file size considerably, since a 4000-pixel-wide photo has four times as many pixels as a 2000-pixel one.
Keeping proportions
Keep the aspect ratio locked to avoid stretched or squashed images: set the width and the height follows automatically. If a form requires an exact shape such as a square, crop the image to that shape first, then resize.
Making a small image larger cannot add detail that was never captured — it will look blurry. Always resize from the largest original you have.
How your files stay private
Most online converters upload your file to a server, process it there and send it back. all in tool works differently: the processing code is downloaded to your browser and runs on your own device. Your file is read from your disk into memory, transformed, and handed back to you as a download. It is never sent over the network, so there is nothing for us — or anyone else — to store, read or leak.
You can confirm this yourself: once the page has loaded, you can disconnect from the internet and the tool keeps working. This also means speed depends on your device rather than your connection, which is usually much faster for large files.
